To My Valentine

Twenty winters shared
And still my heartbeat quickens
At his slightest touch

I usually try and get at least close to finished before I post a piece but I am making an exception this time for a number of reasons:
- It took me several days to "make" the fabric I wanted to use
- It is much bigger than I have been working lately (40" wide x 36" high)
- I am headed into Yellowstone tomorrow and will be totally out of touch for the next week.
I plan to print the haiku to my husband in the center valentine and then quilt the heck out of the whole thing. I will add photos once I return and get it finished.

This is really interesting kathy... will you be sharing your technique for making the fabric? I can't wait to see it finished, because quilting always changes it. I am sure your husband will be delighted! Have a nice time away...

beautiful haiku. Your husband should love it if he is at all romantic. How many hearts do you have to give to him? Sounds like many.

kathy, love what appears to be hand stitching around the hearts....

Very cool. Dyed fabric for the hearts?

Very Valentiney; this could be a Hallmark card! I really like both the haiku and your quilt piece. I look forward to hearing about how you made the fabric and seeing the finished product. I love your use of color.

I'm also looking forward to hearing how you got those beautiful vibrant colors. And your Haiku would make even an unromantic soul take notice!
