February Haiku

I chose to interpret "love" as love of one's country:
Patriotism.

And here is my journalled page

The poppies are an icon that crosses country lines. Very nice.

Forgive my ignorance - are poppies the national flower of Australia? I know of their significance to Flanders Field, but I assume they must have a special meaning to you, too. I like their use here, how each is different, and their relationship to the whole. And I like the use of love" with patriotism. Nice approach.

Lynne: Thank you!

I have been doing a rethink on how to make this as a quilt (in fabric) and hopefully incorporate our national Flower (the Golden Wattle) with the Flanders Poppies.
April 25 is when AUSTRALIA and New Zealand commemorate ANZAC Day when so many of our young men were killed at Gallipoli Cove

Maureen,
I think this message speaks to many, regardless of nationality. I look forward to seeing a quilted piece.
