Feb. Haiku

Here's my February haiku and quiltlet on the subject of love. My grandmother and her house were very important to me, but the house was torn down and all that remains are trees and her wild roses growing on the fence. I did a free cut sort of chaotic background and printed a small, favorite picture of my kids when they were young.

Out of the chaos
Grandma took me in her house
Her spirit in me

A great depiction of 'overgrowth'.. and your little darlings... yes.. 'love'...
touches the heart.

Oh Linda what a wonderful tribute to your grandmother. Your Haiku distills her influence on you beautifully. I love that you included the photo of your kids in your piece - the continuity represented.

Thanks for your comments. It's lovely to know that our ideas get across so well in textile form. Isn't that interesting?

Your haiku is wonderful. The photo in the corner adds a lot of meaning to this composition.

I really like the contemporary look in the piecing of your quilt. The "older" look of the photo brings old and new together and bridges many years. Very nice.
