Procrastination

My found haiku reads:

I would walk the halls
settle into a big chair
I'd read the papers

The piece is collaged with teabags and paste paper that was patterned with a comb, plus a photo from the newspaper.

Kathleen,
This is brilliant! Both words and image convey the theme perfectly.
What do you use as your substrate?

This particular piece is very thick cardboard, but my favorite support for collage is a hard book cover. I had the good fortune to acquire five garbage bags full of drapery and upholstery fabric sample books from a store going out of business. Another sewist took all the fabrics, leaving me with the cardboard. Which ought to be a lifetime supply for collage!

This is my ideal method of procrastination :-) Nothing like a good book, printed on PAPER please! Your ability to pick out the perfect words from one pre-printed page is amazing. This quilt with its tiny rectangles seems so typically you.
Again...Kudos to you for your excellent interpretation...

I love it! The image at the top of the page works so well with the haiku.

Your Haiku conjures up the perfect image of whiling away the time. And your art work is beautiful - the colours, image, composition all work so well together.

Kathy, you are a wizard at this!
I love how it all comes together and the blocking out of words adds to the muse, creating a lingering. Very well done!

Ah, reading...the perfect form of procrastination.

I too procrastinate by curling up on my couch with a good book - and my eye is always glancing up at the nearby clock.

I really admire how you incorporate the haiku words into your pieces.

I am still amazed that you can find just the right haiku in a printed page!
