my found haiku reads:

The next train arrives
rounding-up of stray children
outside the station

I am so intrigued by your found haiku and the fact that you have it on a page with a relevant picture. Good job!

All I can say is...Bravo! You find the perfect words on a single page, a real talent...AND then pair it with the perfect picture! Amazing

I love what you've been doing with your cut-out words and illustrations, Kathleen. That box in the upper left picture looks rather like a coffin to me. Fitting, perhaps, considering mortality of children during this period of history.

Ann -- the haiku page and the picture came from separate books -- the haiku page is pasted over the picture page. But it sure does look like they belong together!

Martha -- I hope it's just a trunk, not a coffin. Unless they fail to round up all the stray children before the train arrives...
